- All voluntary associations should be permissible -- economic and social.
- The government's monetary role is to maintain the integrity of the monetary unit, not participate in fraud.
- Government exists to protect liberty, not to redistribute wealth or to grant special privileges.
- The lives and actions of people are their own responsibility, not the government's.
Rescue U.S. is committed to encouraging the rescue of the American republic through increased citizen awareness and accountability of elected representatives. Although contributors support principles traditionally held by one political party or another, this site is dedicated to principle over party. All thinking people will disagree from time to time and issue to issue ... however we believe disagreement based on principle generates healthy debate whereas disagreement based on party loyalties or blind ideology is generally unproductive and an impediment to any real progress.
The very nature of the term "Rescue" implies of course some sort of emergency or trouble. This site is not intended to be "doom and gloom hand wringing" nor "conspiracy hunting". We instead believe in the optimistic principle that Government "Of - By and For the People" is still possible. In keeping with this belief, we suggest meeting difficult and sometimes disturbing truths regarding certain aspects of today's government with sincere determination tempered with a pragmatic optimism. In this way we might remain focused on today and cast a hopeful eye on tomorrow.

Update 1/18/2007 - Since the announcement that 9 term Congressman Dr. Ron Paul (R-Texas) has established an exploratory committee to seek the Republican nomination for President in 2008, we have decided to dedicate this site to sharing factual information about Dr. Paul, his stated positions, and answers to his critics. In addition collaborative ideas for leveraging the internet to ignite a "prairie fire" will be collected and shared. In this way it is hoped that many decentralized "asymmetrical" grassroots efforts will be encouraged to share information in support of Ron Paul's presidential bid.
