NOTE: Tyvek is a good material for indoor or short term (ie banners with short display life expectancies .) For long term outdoor applications and windy environments we suggest vinyl banner materials. See below for possible sources of inexpensive vinyl surplus materials.

Tyvek sheet is an excellent material for banners that can be
rolled up for easy storage. Tyvek is used for wrapping homes prior to siding,
but is also widely used for tear proof mailing envelopes and similar
applications. Click on the image to find a Tyvek distributor near you.

Spray Paint - we found the cheapest at Lowes home storres for
$0.98 per can (black). Red was slightly more expensive. If making signs in
quantity, for this design figure on 1 can of red for every 4 cans of black.

Note: for volume sign and banner production we suggest an industrial sprayer using bulk paint.

For hanging Tyvek banners it is best to add metal grommets. Grommets and installation kits are available at most hardware stores. We suggest
1/2" or 3/8" size. Click on the image for an on-line source.

Note: If using Vinyl materials grommets are often not required. A hot soldering iron poked through the vinyl material will make suitable holes for hanging.

For hanging your signs and banners use "zip ties" or cable
ties. These are available at any hardware or electrical store.

Basic Instructions:

  1. Make the Stencil
  2. Cut the material
  3. Paint the Black Letters
  4. Paint the  Red Letters
  5. Add the Red Border
  6. Double the edges and install grommets (not required for Vinyl.)
