Will it all be for NOTHING?

I am a new believer in the message that Dr. Paul has enlightened us all with. I have one fear though…….voting machines. As an independent in Sarasota County, Florida, I voted in the 2006 election. We still have law suits going on over who won the house seat in my district. The Republican candidate “officially” won with a scant 369 vote spread. But the Democratic candidate was suing over voting machines and some questionable “missing” votes for the Democratic candidate.

How can we help in making sure that Dr. Paul gets his fair shake in the primaries? I thought of something that might help. I apologize if someone has already suggested this.

1. Write a letter to your local supervisor of elections and ask him or her to publicly make a commitment to a fair and transparent election with details on how votes will be counted in that district. Will there be a paper trail? Will the ballots remain and be counted in plain view of the public? Ask them to provide this to the local newspapers and tv. (maybe someone could create a website where a professional form letter can be downloaded and used for this purpose)
2. Cite in the letter instances of voter fraud, questionable election results, and the many comprehensive studies and real testimonies on how voting machines can be manipulated. There is plenty of info on the web.
3. Carbon copy your local newspaper and television station.
4. Set dates for each state to send out the letters so to have the most impact. 5 letters a day for 60 days is not as effective as 300 letters in one week!

Imagine if 500-1000 of these letters flowed in to each county and city election office, newspaper editors and publishers, and television stations. I think this would be considered a news item, at least on the local level.
Potentially, we could prevent an injustice to the American people and could change the outcome of the election. Just for the price of 3 stamps. Our freedom is worth that.

Some of you may know that there are law suits filed in all 50 states regarding this issue, but we don’t have the time for the government to make a decision and I doubt it would be the right one anyway. We have to address this locally as we have done so far with this movement. Let’s put some pressure on our locally elected officials to commit that they will provide their constituents a fair election, the information we want, and that they will investigate thoroughly and transparently any instances of possible fraud.

Don’t you think that the powers in charge would use any tool they have at their disposal to discredit Ron Paul and to marginalize his message and supporters? Voting machines are just another tool to them.
This is not a Ron Paul issue, this is an American issue and crosses all party lines. I could see this starting with the Ron Paul movement but growing to all concerned citizens, especially Democrats (potential Ron Paul supporters).

This is an idea that will only work with the commitment of many to be effective.
Post this on all meetup group sites and the other blogs. We have the organization, let’s put it to work.
