The market & Jim Cramer meltdown - from iTulip
For those who share Ron Paul's Austrian economic view of the markets, the current credit crunch, housing bust and market volatility are no surprise. Here the folks at iTulip (who called the 2000 dot com bust) narrate yesterday's meltdown moment of perma bull and host of Mad Money, Jim Cramer.
It is said that a recession is when your neighbor loses his job and a depression is when you lose your job. Mr. "buy buy buy" sees the pain when it arrives on Wall & Broad.
This of course is just the latest consequence of the ongoing manipulation and intervention by the Federal Reserve and the resulting malinvestment. If you are a Ron Paul supporter (or just investigating him) and not entirely up on the economic issues Paul often speaks about, I would encourage you to watch the video from the Mises Institute "Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve". This video is an excellent primer on what money is, how it has been undermined, how the FED creates market disruption, who gets hurt and of course ... who benefits.
With greater understanding of the monetary issue, you will not only gain insight into Cramer's meltdown, but you will see the importance of economic liberty and how it is the cement in the foundation of personal liberty.

"Da Bear" over at the Daily
"Da Bear" over at the Daily Reckoning suggested a slightly different distinction on the definition of recession I eluded to:
"When Main Street loses its job, it's a depression.
When Wall Street loses its job, it is HILARIOUS."

There is some disagreement over what Cramer meant by these comments.
Some say that the viewer was asking whether he should keep his
investment in Bear Stearns common stock, and Cramer was
advising him not to sell the stock in the belief that a company would
pay a premium to acquire Bear Stearns
